Meet With Us

A Wednesday evening at Marquis de Lafayette Lodge No. 41 begins with dinner. The meeting follows. Both are part of what makes this lodge what it is, and a man who wants to understand either one is welcome to come and find out for himself.
The Dinner
Dinner is served at 6:00 p.m. and is open to all Masons and to men who are considering the fraternity. There is no charge for guests and no obligation. You are not signing up for anything by coming to dinner. You are simply meeting a room full of Brothers who are glad to have you at the table.
This is where the lodge's social life actually happens. The conversations that take place over dinner, about Masonry, about the city, about whatever the Brothers happen to be thinking about that week, are often as valuable as anything that takes place in the lodge room. A man who comes to several dinners before deciding whether to petition the lodge is making a better-informed decision than one who never showed up at all. That is the idea.
The Meeting
Lodge opens at 7:00 p.m. The stated communications include the formal business of the lodge, Masonic degree work when candidates are progressing through the degrees, and educational programming. This lodge takes its educational programs seriously. A stated communication might include a lecture on Masonic symbolism, a presentation on the history of the Craft, or, as has happened here, a Brother walking through the mathematical proofs behind the Pythagorean theorem and what they mean within the tradition.
The lodge meeting itself is open to Master Masons in good standing. Guests who are not yet Masons are welcome to join us for dinner before the meeting and are always warmly received.

Where We Meet
The lodge meets at 1614 Welton Street in downtown Denver, one block from the 16th Street Mall. The Denver Masonic building is one of two Masonic buildings in Denver listed on the National Register of Historic Places, designed by architect Frank E. Edbrooke in the Richardsonian Romanesque style and completed in 1890. It has housed Masonic lodge work in Denver continuously since then, apart from a period of rebuilding following the 1984 fire.
The Lafayette apron is on permanent display in the lobby. If you arrive before dinner begins, it is worth a few minutes of your time.
Parking and Dress
Parking is available in the surrounding blocks and in nearby garages. Members are reimbursed for parking. If you have questions about where to park, the Secretary can point you in the right direction when you contact him.
We encourage guests and members alike to wear a suit or a jacket and tie. The dress standard reflects the character of the lodge and the respect we bring to the work. If you are coming to dinner for the first time and are uncertain, err on the side of dressing up rather than down.
How to Arrange a Visit
Send an email to Lodge Secretary Lee Miller at secretary@mdl41.com. Let him know you are interested in attending a dinner, and he will confirm the next meeting date and make sure you know where to go when you arrive. The door is open on a Wednesday evening. We hope to see you there.
